Know what you eat: Try to eat foods that are rich in antioxidants as this helps reduce the amount of free radicals in your body; thereby reducing the amount of respiratory issues. Sources include, but are not limited to, cacao, citrus fruits, green tea, broccoli, and a lot more. Fatty acids such as shellfish, egg yolk, an other types of meat containing archidonic acid can cause inflammation for allergics and thus must be avoided.

Beware of food additives: Food additives including metabisulfite and MSG can trigger asthma. While MSG or monosodium glutamate is used on a lot of foodstuff nowadays, metabisulfite can be found in beer wine, shrimp, and dried fruits, particularly apricots.

Stay away from smoke: While this is an unwritten rule, it is often neglected. Asthmatics consider smoke as their number one enemy.
